Natalia Rukoyatkina earned her PhD (Physiology) from Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry RAS in 1987. In 1995 she joined Laboratory of Behavioral Science of Gerontology in Baltimore (USA). After a couple of years, she moved to Germany to join the Division of Nephrology and then Institute of Clinical Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry of University of Wuerzburg (till 2014). Main domain of Natalia Rukoyatkina scientific work involves investigations of mechanisms of platelet inhibitions and platelet death induced by different anticancer drugs (inhibitors of BCL-2 protein, lipoxygenase, PLC and drug of natural origins such as curcumin, nobiletin and others). She participates in a number of RFBR grants (contests: A, KOMFI), supervises the scientific work of SPBU students. In her research work she uses Western blotting, laser diffraction and flow cytometry methods.
