Мы в основном исследуем механизмы обработки информации на перифериях зрительных систем, специфические способы передачи и трансформации зрительных сигналов, их ситуативные адаптации, а также филогенетические эволюции в связи со зрительной экологией организма. Мы используем в качестве модельных организмов высших насекомых, поскольку на уровне отдельных клеток и нервных сетей нет принципиальных различий между разными многоклеточными организмами. Наши методы разнообразны и включают микроскопию, электрофизиологию, манипуляции с экспрессией генов, поведенческие эксперименты и моделирование.
