Область научных интересов Амахина Д.В. — механизмы аномальной синхронизации активности нейронов в ходе эпилептического приступа. Он проводит исследования генерации эпилептиформной активности в переживающих срезах энторинальной коры с помощью электрофизиологических методик и математического моделирования.
