Elena V. Chernigovskaya is a Chief Researcher of Laboratory of Comparative Biochemistry of Cellular Functions, author of 97 articles.

Under the leadership of E.V. Chernigovskaya, 7 master’s and 4 master’s theses were defended. She currently supervises the preparation of two candidate and one master’s thesis.

Research interests: investigation of mechanisms for disrupting the structure of various brain regions of the rat in reflex audiogenic and generalized limbic epilepsy; studying disorders of molecular and intercellular interactions leading to pathological changes in neuronal activity at various stages of epileptiform state formation; investigation of mechanisms of regulation of neurochemical and structural neurodegenerative changes arising during aging in rats with epilepsy.

The research is carried out with the support of RFBR grants.
