The main line of work: the study of the mechanisms of the neuroprotective action of gangliosides, alpha-tocopherol and insulin in in vivo models (two-vessel rat forebrain ischemia combined with hypotension) and in vitro (oxidative stress caused by hydrogen peroxide in cells of primary neuronal cell cultures and constant cell lines). The main attention is paid to the influence of neuroprotectors on cell viability and their ability to alter the expression of genes of pro- and anti-apoptotic proteins, transcription factors, and enzymes of the most important signaling pathways. The main methodological approaches: real-time PCR, flow cytometry, spectrophotometric methods for determining the activity of enzymes, MTT. For experiments I use cell cultures and Wistar rats. Previously, with the help of RIA and ELISA, I studied hormonal regulation of reproduction in fish.
