Екимова Ирина Васильевна (к.б.н., доцент) – специалист в области сравнительной термофизиологии и нейробиологии сна, фундаментальных проблем биомедицины.

Заведующий лабораторией сравнительной термофизиологии ИЭФБ РАН.

Автор 82 научных рецензируемых работ и соавтор 3 глав монографий.

Под руководством Екимовой И.В. выполнено и защищено 3 кандидатских диссертации, 7 бакалаврских и 5 магистерских диссертаций.

Область научных интересов: нейрохимия сна и терморегуляции, защитные эффекты белков теплового шока, нейродегенеративные патологии.

Научные достижения: расшифрованы и исследованы медиаторные механизмы регуляции сна у птиц, клеточно-молекулярные механизмы сомногенного, терморегуляторного и противосудорожного действия стресс-индуцируемого белка Hsp70, выяснена роль шаперонов HSP70 в механизмах защиты функций мозга от стрессовых и нейротоксических факторов, разработаны подходы для превентивной шаперонной терапии болезни Паркинсона. Методики: электрофизиология, иммуногистохимия, биохимия, поведение.
